Customer Reviews
Seek by iNaturalist is widely praised as an engaging educational tool for discovering plants and animals, especially safe for minors and easy to use. Key strengths include its intuitive interface and fun, Pokedex-like experience that aids learning. However, users consistently note major flaws. "Identification accuracy": While many appreciate its potential and occasional success, numerous reviews report misidentifications (e.g., cat, spider, rabbit hutch spider) and failures to recognize common species like dandelions or ants. "Camera performance": The camera is often described as slow, unresponsive, or crashing on Android, though some find it works fine on iOS. "Species coverage": Some users find it broadens their knowledge, but others complain many species are not recognized or are grouped into generic categories. "Speed and stability": Complaints about long loading times and app hangs are balanced by those who say it 'keeps getting smarter.' "Feature requests": The removal of challenges features and lack of friend system are missed by passionate users. Overall, despite its innovative concept, inconsistent recognition and technical issues lead to mixed satisfaction.
