Customer Reviews
Users generally praise franceinfo for its up-to-date, objective news coverage and excellent live streaming quality, making it a valuable tool for staying informed on French current events and even for FLE learners. The app offers podcasts and reliable information. However, several recurring issues detract from the experience. "Notifications:" Many users find the app sends too many notifications (50 per day vs. desired 3-4) and that they are annoyingly grouped. Some note that notification settings do not respect Android's global preferences, and there is no option to disable sports alerts. "Audio streaming:" While the live stream quality is good when active, the audio frequently cuts out when the app is in the background, the phone is on standby, or when connected to a Bluetooth speaker. Some users report no such issue, but others call it a major regression. "Functionality:" After recent updates, the 'see comments' button stopped working on some devices, and videos (especially the 8pm news) often show 'Not available' or cause simultaneous audio/video overlap, creating cacophony. "Missing features:" Users want the ability to comment directly within the app and Chromecast support for videos. On the positive side, the app remains highly rated for its core content and ease of use, with many expressing overall satisfaction despite these flaws.
