Customer Reviews
Users highly praise CBC News for its high image quality, clean and intuitive design, reliable and balanced reporting, and effectiveness for staying informed on Canadian news. However, key pain points center on intrusive advertisements: many users report that ads are overly sensitive, causing accidental redirects when scrolling, which disrupts reading. Another major issue is the mandatory account requirement to view articles, with several users finding it unnecessary and frustrating, especially given that the app is publicly funded. Technical problems (e.g., login loops, spinning circles) and occasional lack of news update frequency are also noted. While the news content itself is valued, these usability flaws have caused some to downgrade their ratings significantly. Overall, the app offers strong journalism but is marred by ad and account friction.
